History of the Iuka Ravine
Located near one of Columbus’ hidden historic neighborhoods, the Iuka Ravine is a glacial ravine formed thousands of years ago. The name Iuka is from a town in Mississippi where Major Neil was wounded in the battle of Iuka in 1862 during the Civil War. When he returned to Columbus, he settled near the ravine and the name was set. Iuka boasts homes designed by Frank Packard and Charles Incho, and was also once the home of Roy Lichtenstein while he was at Ohio State.
